10Rate announces its Top 10 Juicers for 2012 | Breville and Jack Lalanne Win Best Quality and Best Value Awards

Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) May 17, 2012

10Rate reviewers and staff selected 10 of the best juicers for 2012, assigning each a numerical rating as well as awarding three models that stood out for quality, value, and budget. Testing and consideration for this Juicer Top 10 list was given based on this set of seven criteria:

1. How much juice it yields

2. Pulp dryness (indicating minimal food waste)

3. Ease of cleaning

4. Whether the feed tube fits whole produce

5. Noise and vibrations

6. Motor power

7. Price and value

The annual Best Juicer 2012 awards list was headed by the Breville 800JEXL, winning the Best Quality spot and a 9 out of 10 rating. The review mentioned several strengths of the juicer, noting that it ?has a 1,000-watt motor that extracts the most juice from foods, leaving whatever pulp is left very dry. With a three-inch circular feed tube, you can stick in whole carrots, tomatoes, apples, and oranges with little prep work chopping or cutting them into smaller pieces. There are two speeds to choose from, the faster one operating at 13,000 rpm. In the end, clean up is a breeze, and all the parts are safe for the dishwasher.?

10rate’s editors also gave the Best Value Juicer award to the Jack Lalanne PJP in the third place spot. With a respectable rating of 8.5 out of 10, the review boasted, ?Its durable stainless steel blade and filter are durable and get the juicing job done quickly. A benefit that metal juicers have over the cheaper plastic models is that they aren?t stained over time by beets and carrots; this juicer is easy to wipe clean and its parts come apart easily to go in the dishwasher.?

Additionally, the Best Budget award from the Top 10 Best Juicers list went to the Black & Decker JE2200B, for which 10rate noted, ?You will have to remember that with only 400 watts, you can?t stuff it full of fruits and veggies and expect fast results; this juicer works best when you feed pieces in one at a time. It?s a slower process, and you have to cut food up before feeding it into the tube, but it still extracts a good amount of juice with minimal food waste. For a low-priced model, this machine runs quietly and efficiently and is great for light to moderate use.?

Breville was the only brand featured for multiple models each in 10rate’s Juicer Reviews. Meanwhile, the Hurricane Manual Wheatgrass Juicer tied for third place in overall ranking and the review had this to say of its 8.5 out of 10 rating: ?It assembles in just a few minutes and clamps to the edge of the countertop. You simply turn the crank to extract the maximum amount of juice from wheatgrass. The pulp that collects is very dry. Cleanup takes only a minute or two as you run the few parts under the faucet for a quick rinse. We were skeptical at first about a manual juicer, but really the crank turns so easily it hardly feels like work.?

10rate.com conducts reviews in various product and services categories and publishes ?Expert Top 10 Lists for Everything in your life.? The company’s web site strives to ?Make it Easy? to select from the hundreds of choices there are in the product and service market place. All products and services are thoroughly researched by the company’s expert editors prior to receiving a rating on a 1-10 scale. In addition to product reviews the company’s editors write guidelines, buying guides and articles on various topics surrounding each product or service category covered to help educate the consumer.

MapMuse Announces Release of Chowdown Countdown Locator

Reston, Virginia (PRWEB) April 05, 2012

MapMuse today announced the release of the Chowdown Countdown Locator, an app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch that connects fans of the hit Travel Channel show, Chowdown Countdown, with the restaurants they?ve seen featured on it.

?Although Chowdown Countdown only ran for 5 episodes, it was more than just a blip on the radar for TV food fans,? says Mike Pilon, owner of MapMuse. ?It was the definitive list of where to find world-class grub in America, and our app ensures that fans will still know where to find that grub.? The show, a five-episode miniseries that aired in January of 2010, listed the 101 best American ?chowdown restaurants,? as defined by the places serving the biggest and tastiest greasy-spoon dishes. Typical meals featured on the show included a five-pound burrito, a Frisbee-sized hamburger, and a twelve-egg omelet.

The Chowdown Countdown Locator app provides users with the featured dish and ranking of each of the 101 restaurants chosen by the Travel Channel, as well as instant driving directions, contact details, and web links. ?The idea is that fans of the show will visit these awesome restaurants in real life,? says Pilon. Although Chowdown Countdown episodes supplied the name and approximate location of each featured restaurant, the locator app packages these details and more into an easy-to-use, interactive map. Users simply have to touch the icon over a restaurant?s location to learn all about it.

The Chowdown Countdown Locator retails for $ 2.99 on the iTunes app store. In the interest of including fans of the show who don?t have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, MapMuse has also provided a free web map of Chowdown Countdown restaurants on their website. Users of either interface who visit one of the 101 locations are encourages to share photos and reviews with other users. ?It?s a bit like a mini Yelp-type platform just for Chowdown Countdown restaurants,? says Pilon.

MapMuse, an internet and app development company based out of Reston, VA is no newcomer to the TV food show locator market. Among its App Store catalog, one can find titles such as the ?Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives Locator,? the ?Bizarre Foods Locator,? and the ?Best Thing I Ever Ate Locator.? Users can add restaurants from other food shows to their Chowdown Countdown map via in-app purchases.

Synergy HomeCare Announces Program to Directly Benefit 30% of Americans

Mesa, AZ (Vocus) September 17, 2010

Family Caregivers will benefit from the new outreach program by Synergy HomeCare. The Arms Around Family Caregivers? campaign encourages American families to ?Embrace the Moments that Matter??.

Arms Around Family Caregivers? is meant to make a lasting impact on families throughout the nation in various situations and conditions. In the process of working closely with thousands of family caregivers, Synergy HomeCare is more than familiar with the need of these families for ongoing respite, resources and education.

According to the National Family Caregiver Association, 65 Million people in the United States are care for an ailing family member for an average of 20 hours per week. People struggling with Alzheimer?s disease or dementia, children with special needs, aging and elderly parents and injured veterans are all groups that are primarily tended to by family caregivers.

The national campaign focuses on two objectives. First, the educational support of family caregivers through the provision of online resources on the official Synergy HomeCare blog and website. During the month of November, Synergy HomeCare will open its online education site ?Life Time Learning? to anyone who wishes to learn more about how to better care for their relatives in need.

The second objective of Arms Around Family Caregivers? is to cater to the emotional needs of family caregivers and the ones they love. November marks the time when anyone can nominate for the family caregiver in their life for the ?Pillar of Strength Award? by telling the story of the impact of their family caregiver. The winner will be determined based on community support for the story in the form of voting and commenting.

Nominations will be in the form of stories of the background and impact of the elected family caregiver.

The ?Pillar of Strength Award? includes 40 hours of much needed respite care from Synergy HomeCare. In addition to this, partnering companies are beginning to respond and contribute to this program.

Though this program is intended to run throughout the year, Synergy HomeCare will extend special benefits to family caregivers during the month of November, the presidentially appointed National Family Caregiver month.

?Though the contest will only be open during November, our blog will not stop supporting family caregivers.? says Project Advisor Kitty Vradenburg. Arms Around Family Caregivers? will be here to help [family caregivers] in their every day efforts to support their families.?

The impact of Arms Around Family Caregivers? comes not only from the corporate office, but from the Synergy HomeCare franchises. While the company will promote the campaign on a grander scale, each franchisee will be able to speak to the individual family caregivers in their community and in their state.

Those interested in 8 free hours of Life Time Learning, or Arms Around Family Caregivers? can call (888) 659-7771 or emailing aafc(at)synergyhomecare(dot)com.
